Umber
Noise that never stops at night.
Brown, pink, green and white noise for Android, made live on your phone. No ads, ever. Pay once.
Get Umber on Google PlayFree to use, with no time limit. Pro is €6.99, once.
Four colors of noise
Each one is a steady sound with its own shape. Tap a color to hear it here, in your browser.
Room Match
Not sure which color to pick? Let your room choose.
Leave your phone where you sleep and tap Room Match. Umber listens for 10 seconds, finds which pitches are loudest in your room, and picks the noise that covers them best. A low hum from traffic or a fan calls for brown. A higher hiss or whine calls for white or pink.
- The mic is on only while the 10-second listening screen is open.
- The sound is checked in memory on your phone. It is never recorded, saved or sent anywhere.
- Free: see your room’s color and share it. Pro: Umber sets the tone and volume to your room and saves it.
Your room is a
Brown room
Plays all night
A noise app is no use if it stops at 3 a.m. Umber is built to keep going until you stop it.
Screen off, all night
Lock your phone and Umber keeps playing, until you stop it or the sleep timer ends. Set the timer from 15 minutes to 8 hours, or let it run till morning.
Battery help
Some phones stop apps at night to save battery. Umber checks yours and shows the few taps that keep it playing, with steps for Samsung, Xiaomi and others.
Made live, never a loop
The noise is made on your phone as it plays. There is no recording, so there is no seam or click where a loop starts again.
Free to use. Pay once for Pro.

Is the noise a recording?
No. Umber makes the noise with math, live, as it plays. It never repeats, so you never hear a loop start again. You can hear the same sound on the brown, pink, green and white noise pages.
Does Room Match record me?
No. The mic is on only during the 10 seconds you see the listening screen. Umber checks the sound in memory on your phone and keeps only the result. Nothing is recorded, saved or sent. See the privacy policy.
The sound stopped in the night. What can I do?
Your phone’s battery saving may have stopped it. In Umber, open Settings, then Battery help. It shows the steps for your phone, and tells you when Umber can play all night.
Is Pro a subscription?
No. You pay once in Google Play, and Pro is yours. If you reinstall Umber or get a new phone, tap Restore purchases in Settings.
