Umber

Privacy policy

Umber Brown Noise: Pink, Green, for Android, and this website. Last updated: October 20, 2026.

Umber is made by Kineto-Soft (Ugur Akcelik), Turin, Italy, VAT IT12938420010, the “data controller” under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Contact: info@kineto-soft.com · PEC: ugurakcelik@pec.it.

This policy explains what Umber does with information on your phone. In short: Umber has no account, no ads, and no analytics or tracking. Room Match never records you.

What stays on your phone

Umber saves your settings on your phone only. They are never sent to us or anyone else:

They stay until you clear Umber’s data or uninstall it.

Room Match and the microphone

Room Match listens to your room to pick the noise that covers it best. It uses the microphone only while its 10-second listening screen is open. Umber turns the mic off as soon as the 10 seconds end or you leave that screen.

The sound is analysed in memory on your phone, to measure how loud each range of pitches is. It is never recorded, saved or sent anywhere. Umber keeps only the result: your room’s noise color and, with Pro, the tone and volume it set.

If you tap Share on the result, Android’s share menu sends a short text (your room’s color and a link to Umber) to the app you choose. Nothing is shared unless you do this.

Permissions Umber asks for

You can turn off the microphone permission at any time in Android Settings.

Purchases

If you buy Umber Pro, Google Play handles the payment. We never see your payment details. Google’s use of your data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.

To unlock Pro, Umber uses RevenueCat (revenuecat.com), a service that processes in-app purchases for apps. RevenueCat stores an anonymous app user ID that Umber creates and your purchase history (such as the product, the purchase token and the date), along with basic technical details such as the app version, device platform and IP address. RevenueCat handles this information for us, under the RevenueCat privacy policy. Umber sends RevenueCat no sound, no settings and nothing else about how you use the app.

This website

This website has no cookies, ads or analytics. Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, page, time and browser) to keep the site running and safe. The site’s font loads from Google Fonts, so your browser also connects to Google. The noise on the color pages is made in your browser; nothing is recorded or sent.

Deleting your data

On your phone: clear Umber’s storage (Android Settings, then Apps, Umber, Storage) or uninstall Umber. This deletes all your settings and saved mixes.

At RevenueCat: email info@kineto-soft.com with the subject “Delete my Umber data” and your Google Play order number (it starts with GPA.). We delete your anonymous ID and purchase history at RevenueCat within 30 days. Google keeps its own record of your purchase under the Google Privacy Policy.

What we don’t do

Your rights

If you’re in the EU/EEA, the GDPR gives you the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or export your personal data, and to object to how it’s processed. Email info@kineto-soft.com to use any of these rights. You can also complain to your local data protection authority; in Italy, that is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

Children

Umber is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update it on this page and change the date above.
